Living Cell as a Laser

in the future, w nat be able to use light from within tissue, rather than using external lasers to flood it with light.

cells derived from kidneys have ben manufactured to produce a protein discovered in jellyfish, that has been used to produce the first “living” laser (if only by a subjective technical definition).

Graphene: Miracle Material, or Hype

On a sub-microscopic scale, graphene is potentially the strongest material known, 200x stronger than steel, but that may not hold true large scale.
Even if it does, is there a way to break it down or recycle product made of it when they have reached their end?

It is the most conductive material known, a hopeful replacement for silicone, but so far, there is no way to turn this conductivity off, a necessity for electronic computing. Experiments are underway, using it to build a 120 mhz processor, this is 3x the 40gz current.

Another property researchers are hoping to exploit is it’s amazing flexibility. Samsung, the company who has most heavily invested in researching gradients practical application’s, has/is prototyped on a 25″ screen. Hype speak of being able to roll up your phone into the shape & size of a pencil. For others it is the miracle material behind electronic clothing.

Whether all the imagined uses for this new super material are able to be realized, some hoping in as little as 5 years, or not, certainly it is a material bound to have an impact on inventing products in the long term.  Hopefully, we’ll see some miracle products brought to market even within a few years. I can’t wait to see what the future holds !

E. Coli computers, cameras, petrol, insulin & other drugs.

E.Coli is probably the most studied organism in the world.

It is used to manufacture insulin & other drugs.

It is currently being studied to manufacture insulin.

There are even researchers looking into creating computers and cameras with it!

Most forms of E. Coli are not harmful to humans. 
The same mechanism that enable it to be a fantastic process for the aforementioned applications, is what also enables to easily mutate into forms that are deadly, as well.
